Hello and welcome to Burlington Buzz, a quick daily read that will keep you connected with your community. Thank you for being with us! If our stories speak to you, forward this Newsletter, share on social media, or upgrade to a paid Hive membership!

As I walked through this patch of clover, I was shocked to look down and see dozens of honeybees going about their business at my feet. They didn't bother me, of course, though I felt like a clumsy oaf tromping all over them. I tried many photos but only truly captured one bee. Can you find it? Photo by Nicci Kadilak.

Good Morning, Burlington!

It's that time of year again! The Burlington Educational Summer Theater (BEST) program is underway. This three-week program allows students in grades 4-8 to learn a musical from start to finish and put on a full production at the end of the summer. This year there are around 90 kids participating!

This year's production is Matilda, Jr., and according to director, John Middleton Cox, in an email to parents, it's already shaping up nicely only after two days of rehearsals.

Tickets to the show are on sale now, and they're going fast. Get yours before the show sells out!

Up Close and Personal With Nature

Buzz reader and Burlington resident, Ruth Rin, joins us today with a reflection on her visit to the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick, MA. What struck me most in her story was the ability to detach from the screens and electronics that rule our lives.

As someone who has to sit/stand at my computer all day for work, I found myself craving a day in nature like the one Ruth describes.

Then I remembered it's 1000° out with 450% humidity and thought, Maybe next week. Beach, anyone?
